Fountain-ISOKO of NGOs Working Group on Women and Youth for Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region of Africa

Fountain-ISOKO of NGOs Working Group on Women and Youth for Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region of Africa is the global voluntary association for the Active non-violence, Gender Equality and Community Development. Its Headquarter is established in the United States of America with a field office in Bujumbura-Burundi (Great Lakes Region of Africa). The Global Leadership of Fountain-ISOKO is made of active members and volunteers who are recruited based on their skills, motivation and availability to implement the vision and mission of Fountain-ISOKO.

At Fountain-ISOKO, Women and Men are engaged in an equal partnership to develop complementary approaches and programs and bring our support to Governments and Stakeholders to:

1. Implement the UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security at both national and regional levels,

2. Strengthern the Civil Society and Youth groups for their full participation in the implementation and the monitoring of the UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security at both local, national and regional levels,  

3. Engage "Women and Men", "Girls and Boys" in a partnership model for Gender Sensitive and Active Non-Violence approaches to fight against gender based violence and promote peace at family, community, national and regional levels.

Mission:  Fountain-ISOKO is dedicated to foster peace, gender equality and community development for the people of the Great Lakes Region of Africa using proven and innovative approaches.

Vision:  The Great lakes Region of Africa is a peaceful, free from gender-based violence and prosperous region in Africa.  

Purpose:

1. Develop inclusive approaches for Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

2. Eradicate Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in the Great Lakes Region of Africa;

3. Empower victims of sexual and gender-based violence in the Great Lakes Region of Africa;

4. Generate community health and socio-economic infrastructures and resources to treat and fully rehabilitate victims and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in the Great Lakes Region of Africa;

Programs:  

Assess, design and execute programs that allow opportunities for Research, Community Capacity Building, Networking and Advocacy to promote peacebuilding, gender equality, personal and community development, health, wellness, social and economic growth in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

Members, staff and partners of Fountain-ISOKO are committed to promote UBUNTU ethics-tolerance, compassion, care, solidarity, reconciliation and reciprocity- as adopted by the General Assembly of Fountain-ISOKO.
