ISOKO engages women and men in equal partnership to develop integrated and innovative approaches and programs to promote gender equality and build sustainable peace.  We aim to support local civil society organizations, governments and stakeholders to promote Women, Peace and Security and Youth, Peace and Security Agendas in the Great Lakes Region by:

1. Developing mechanisms for localization and implementation of "UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security";

2. Strengthening civil society and youth groups to realize their full participation in the implementation and the monitoring of the "UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security";

3. Engaging "Women and Men as Partners for Peacebuilding and Gender Equality", to promote sustainable peace and gender justice throughout the region.

How We Do This:

Assess, design and execute programs that allow opportunities for research, capacity building, networking, and advocacy to promote peace and gender equality and advance development in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.
