The NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security advocates for the equal and full participation of women in all efforts to create and maintain peace and security.The NGOWG serves as a bridge between women’s human rights defenders working in Burundi and policy makers, international and sub-regional NGOs and U.N. Agencies.The NGOWG coalition members are:

The majority of them are working at both local and national level. The main areas of their activities are: Advocacy and Capacity building for women political participation whereas others are fighting against gender based violence.
The capacity building for NGOWG is a strategic choice with added-value on the UNSCR 1325 NAP and the NEW DEAL principles implementation in Burundi. This is why ISOKO, DUSHIREHAMWE and BLTP are proposing this project build on the following objectives.
Overall objective:
- To strengthen the Civil society’s participation in the UNSCR 1325 NAP implementation and engendering development process through the New Deal principles within Burundian international cooperation programme.
And specific objectives:
- To facilitate the working group institutional and organizational development
- To build the capacity on communication and advocacy for full implementation of the UNSCR 1325 and the New Deal
- Consolidate the NAP 1325 funds tracking as well as and the interventions’ coordination within the NGO Working group, the Steering Committee and international actors on NAP and the New Deal
