Impact

An influential presence in politics, Fountain-ISOKO have been involved in supporting and nurturing the involvement of women and youth in politics. Projects have included:

- Supporting Women Engagement and Effective Leadership in transitional justice mechanisms for lasting peace and security in Burundi

- My role in ending gender-based violence / Engaging men in transforming masculinities and promoting women’s rights in post-conflict Burundi

- Burundi NGOs Working Group on Women, Peace and Security ( BURUNDI NGOsWG Inititative)
- My role in ending gender-based violence / Engaging men in transforming masculinities and promoting women’s rights in post-conflict Burundi

- Permanent Framework for Women in Politics ( CAPF),” aimed at supporting women’s political participation, April – September 2012
- the National Youth Camp for Peace, 2012 edition in order to prevent violence and promote youth entrepreneurship.
- Political dialogue among Burundian political actors (february 2012-october 2012)
- Victims’ needs and priorities regarding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
- Development and adoption of a violence prevention scheme, “Youth Code of Conduct,” during the 2010 electoral period
- Research on the “Youth Force perception and exploitation by Political actors from the Independence to now: Challenges and Opportunities” , 2010

- Advocacy for women’s quota in local governance, 2009
Fountain-ISOKO has made a significant impact to the promotion of equality, peace and integrity for the lives of women and men in Burundi and the Great Lakes region of Africa.
